Musical compositions and arrangements

I first tried my hand at composing whilst at school but never asked anyone to play or sing what I had written! I was given more encouragement when studying for A level music and again at teacher training college, where I arranged two hymns for the orchestra.

In my first teaching post there were some good recorder players who craved their own part rather than playing the tune. I wrote the descant to St George's in my first term at Furzefield Middle School..

I concentrated on arrangements for school and church groups until I joined Manwood Singers for whom I have written mainly carols.

I use Sibelius software to make my finished copy. You can see most of my compositions on www.sibeliusmusic.com. You will need to download a free plugin called Scorch which enables you to see, play and transpose the music.
